Veg Pizza | Vegetable Pizza | Vegetarian Pizza
Vegetable Pizza is a flat round bread. The typical way of baking this pizza is with vegetable toppings and mozzarella cheese. First top it with a pizza sauce, generally, marinara sauce. Then fill the crust with your favorite toppings and cheese.
The marinara sauce has tomatoes puree and tastes excellent on a pizza. You can alter this Vegetarian Pizza as you wish. But to make pizza dough, please follow proper instructions.
For the Veg Pizza, you can add vegetables like tomatoes, red bell pepper (red capsicum), green bell pepper (green capsicum), yellow bell pepper (yellow capsicum), red/white onions, mushrooms, or pineapple.
Pineapple? Some of you might be wondering how pineapple works as a pizza topping. Well yes, you should definitely try pineapple. It tastes amazing. In fact, it’s my favorite topping.
Furthermore, you can also select your favorite pizza sauce. Sometimes, when I run out of pizza sauce or feel lazy making one from scratch, I use tomato ketchup. Stir fry vegetables with tomato ketchup tastes great too.
Other than tomato ketchup there are other sauces too. They are schezwan sauce (make sure you use little, it’s damn spicy), mayonnaise, pudina chutney, ranch or any pizza sauce. At times, I also use other pasta sauces like Alfredo, pesto, etc.
The advantage of having a homemade pizza is – it is healthy and fresh. Also, it serves the purpose of making a pizza as per our likings. Other than the vegetables and sauce, you can also decide the type of cheese you would like to add. Such as cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese or combine many kinds of cheese.
Talking of cheese, you can also use Indian cottage cheese (paneer). There are various ways of using paneer as a topping. With paneer, you can make paneer tikka, paneer chilli, paneer butter masala, paneer bhurji, or add paneer along with the vegetables.
In this recipe, I have used a homemade pizza base and marinara sauce (pizza sauce). Please have a look at the recipe posts for pizza crust and pizza sauce from scratch. If you do not wish to prepare from scratch, they’re available at any grocery store or supermarket.
Finally, I sprinkle some Italian seasoning, chilli flakes, and black pepper on top. Then bake the pizza as per the baking instructions given below. You can have pizza as a snack as well as the main course. I hope you enjoy baking this vegetable pizza for your family and friends.

Ingredients
1 medium diced green capsicum (green bell pepper)
1 medium diced onion
1 medium diced tomato
100 gms chopped mushrooms
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1 cup sweet corn
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes
1 cup pizza sauce
2 medium pizza crusts
Directions
- Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
- Place a butter paper or parchment paper on a pizza pan. If you do not have butter paper or parchment paper, you can grease the pan with oil or butter.
- Place the pizza base on the pan and spread half cup pizza sauce.
- Add the vegetables toppings
- Now add grated mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle chilli flakes and Italian seasoning.
- Once the oven preheats, place the pizza pan in the oven and bake for exactly 15 minutes.
- Veg Pizza is ready. Garnish some more cheese if required. Serve it hot with a cold drink and garlic bread.
Notes
- You can add any toppings you like. Any vegetables, cheese or paneer too.
- Pineapple is also one of the toppings that can be added.
- If you do not have marinara sauce then you can use tomato ketchup, that tastes great too. You can also use any other spread you like and make your own style pizza.
- It is always good to prepare the pizza crust at home. It certainly makes a difference in how it tastes.
How to make Vegetable Pizza step-by-step?
Step 1: Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. Place a butter paper or parchment paper on a pizza pan. If you do not have butter paper or parchment paper, you can grease the pan with oil or butter.
Step 2: Place the pizza base on the pan and spread half cup of pizza sauce.
Step 3: Add chopped vegetables like ½ large diced red onion, 1 large diced tomato, 5-6 button mushrooms, and 1 medium diced green bell pepper (green capsicum).
Step 4: Now add ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese.
Step 5: Sprinkle ½ teaspoon of chilli flakes and ½ teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
Step 6: Once the oven preheats, place the pizza pan in the oven and bake for exactly 15 minutes.
Step 7: Veg Pizza is ready. Garnish some more cheese if required. Serve it hot with a cold drink and garlic bread.
