2 cups of all-purpose flour (maida)
1 teaspoon yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
Olive oil as required
Salt to taste
Directions
- Add all-purpose flour (maida) in a mixing bowl.
- Add yeast, salt to taste, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Mix all the ingredients well.
- Add little by little water and knead the flour. Do not need it too much. Knead until it’s not sticky. If it is still sticky add one more tablespoon of olive oil.
- You can either cover the bowl with a plastic wrap so that no air enters inside or simply store it in an airtight container.
- Let the dough rest for about an hour.
- Take out the dough from the airtight container. You will see that the dough has raised and is double the size. Also, it’s texture is sticky. To make it soft, apply some olive oil to it and start kneading it into a soft dough. Sprinkle some flour in between to avoid stickiness.
- Once the dough is soft divide it into two portions and give ball shape to each portion.
- Now flatten one of the balls and dip it in the flour. Let the flour be covered from both sides.
- Start rolling each dough ball into a thin round shape. You can roll the dough a bit thick if you like a thick crust. To make the perfect round shape crust, roll it from the edges.
- Pizza Crust is ready. Spread pizza sauce in the crust. Add your favourite toppings and cheese, and then bake it.
Notes
- Before letting the dough rest, do not need it too much.
- You can also use wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour (maida). Or you can use both 1/2 quantity. This will make a healthy pizza.
- With this dough you can also make tandoori naan. If you don’t own a tandoor, you can use your regular pan.
- With this dough you can also bake pav, buns or masala bun. It can be used to make any kind of bread.
- Olive oil contains antioxidants and is good source of vitamin A, D, E and K. Also, it has many health benefits.
